It's not my place to tell Nic’s story--he's more than capable of doing it himself and in fact he did. His self published book No Limits tells the story of his journey from being on life support to recovery and it's a cracking read. Tonight I was privileged to be invited to a special screening of Nic's documentary, which was one of those rare moments in life that encourages you to really reflect on your life. And I'm not talking about comparing my life or my achievements with anyone else's or saying that we don't all have our own shit going on or that our own struggles aren't valid. No person's journey is the same as another's. I reckon we need to stop comparing our stories and start being inspired by them instead. In spending the night with Nic and his family was an opportunity to allow myself to be completely uplifted and inspired by one young bloke's story and his amazing attitude despite everything that's happened. It was a feel good moment when one was needed.

Thanks for giving me the chance to hear your story Nic. I really think you will change a lot of peoples lives with your story. In this business I see a lot of great stories that really can move people. Todays was one of those WOW moments where I think the sky is the limit .

Dr Angus Buchanon - Curtin University

Hi Nic, I attended your lecture this morning to occupational therapy students at Curtin University. I didn't get to thank you in person, but I wanted to express my gratitude to you for coming today and telling us your story. I am inspired everyday by the role and impacts OT’s  can have on peoples' lives; it is people like you with such fun and positive attitudes who are why I am so inspired and motivated to pursue a career in this field. I wish you all the best for your future endeavours which I don't doubt you will achieve even surpass!

I was at your presentation this evening and all the way home it made me think. Not only about what a journey you, your family (especially your Dad) and friends have been on. As your Dad rightly said, we all have a journey, but how positivity is the key. Thank you for your time and energy in presenting your story. I will never forget this evening's presentation and your truly moving and inspirational story.

This week, our “Camp Hero” participants had the privilege of meeting a special hero; Nic Emmerson. Nic was involved is a serious car accident at the age of 16 and was left seriously disabled. Despite Nic’s challenges, he is one of the most determined and motivating people we have ever met. He came to share his story at this weeks Camp Hero. He spoke through an Ipad and there wasn’t a dry eye in the bush. Nic has an amazing ability to put everything into perspective. Nic you are an inspiration and we are so glad we got the opportunity to hear your story.

Nic, I have been in occupational therapy for thirty one years and there are many times when you get moved and today is one of those times. I feel incredibly privileged to have been here today and for being part of your presentation. Nic, thank you so much for sharing in your life. I think that there are may people in society that could learn from your amazing attitude and positive outlook and from what you are actually achieving. I have no doubt that you will achieve your future goals. Your motivation is absolutely fantastic.

Hi Nic, I am not sure if either you or your dad remember but I actually met you both at the airport with my family on the way back from Bali in July this year. My little sister has cerebral palsy so my mum actually started speaking to you and your father on the bus on the way to the plane. I am a first year Occupational Therapy student at Curtin and just finished watching this morning's lecture online. I just wanted to email to say how amazing your documentary is and that I am very grateful and appreciative of you taking the time to present today. Your outlook on life is really inspiring.

Hey Nic, just wanted to let you know your documentary that you showed at our school today was very inspiring and I admire your determination to be independent and succeed in life despite what you've been through. Me and my friends were really inspired by your story and we hope to have a spirit like yours. Please come back to our school next year.

Hi! My friends and I really enjoyed your presentation and we were really inspired by your story. Thank you so much for coming to Willetton High to talk to us. Please come again I’m sure many other students would love to hear your story.

Hi Nic, You visited my school today and delivered your documentary no limits. And I just had to contact you and say, Thankyou. I am so grateful to have heard your incrediable story and it has been a huge inspiration. I was deeply touched by your message and brought to tears the whole way through. It hit me in a way nothing else ever has before and I just want to thank you because your presentation truly touched me and change my whole perspective and outlook on life. Your story is amazing and truly incredible and should be heard by everyone it’s life changing. Again thank you, I am forever greateful. You are spreading a message unlike no other and having an impact on all those you meet.

We got to listen to so many inspirational speakers, it would be hard to write about all of them. A couple of the ones that had the greatest impact on me were. Nic Emmerson who is now disabled due to a fatal motor accident, and through his inspirational and heartfelt story, I learnt that we shouldn’t take anything in life for granted as life is too short and you don’t know when it could all be over. Besides, we take simple things for granted until they are gone. He has turned his misfortune into something truly amazing, not letting anything stop him from living life to the fullest, despite his disability. With his strong empowerment on “No limits”. His motivational video just shows how we even take talking for granted, as Nic has to use his iPad and a speaker to communicate, however, he shows us that his disability does not define him and that disability does not mean inability. Through his remarkable and eventful journey, he continuously pushes himself and proves himself through life and living with “No limits”.

I am a member of the Pharmacy 777 board and had the privilege of experiencing your inspiring presentation on Friday evening. You possess wisdom well beyond your years due to what you've been through, and you proved anything is possible which is the Ironman Triathlon slogan. Recently committing to do a PhD in the QUT school of clinical sciences (yes odd for a chartered accountant) your words have inspired me and taken the worry out of whether I've bitten off too much this time. Thanks Nic, You're a great man.
